I very much like the area between the dyke and the Stawamus River in Squamish – when Terri and I lived nearby, I would go there frequently with my camera. That's what this photograph is about – a place that's special to me.
Late in the Spring, when the water was high, a gulch beside the river filled up with water. There was only the lightest trickle feeding the pool – when the wind feel silent, the water was like polished glass. I waited beside the river for hours, enjoying the evening, before the air was finally calm for long enough to make this photograph. Looking at it now, I can just about smell the moist coastal rainforest around me.
